The vision of HOSA is to help the Poor, the Persecuted and Oppressed, the Disadvantaged, the Orphans, the Abused and the Hopeless in practical and sustainable ways through the message of Jesus Christ to bring about a lasting change, restoration and transformation of their personal lives as well as their communities. This goal is based on the promise of God in Isaiah 58:10-12 which reads:
“Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon. The LORD will lead you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Some of you will rebuild the deserted ruins of your cities. Then you will be known as a rebuilder of walls and a restorer of homes.”
As Christians from different denominational backgrounds we believe that each person is wanted, loved and equipped with talents by God. Therefore we treat the Poor, the Persecuted and Oppressed, the Disadvantaged, the Orphans, the Abused and the Hopeless with respect and appreciation. We are committed to show God’s love through word and deed.
We seek for advice in our decision making processes, acknowledging that where there are many advisers, God will grant success.
We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, light from light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father;
through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father [and the Son],
who with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified,
who has spoken through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
