Support for children, youth and young adults in social hotspots the of the Cape Flats…
Supporting high-risk-children, adolescents and young adults in disadvantaged areas of the Cape Flats – what does this look like?
Young people who live in the many townships and disadvantaged areas of the Cape Flats, usually face enormous pressure and a whole range of challenges, whether in their family, in their close circle of friends or in their neighbourhood: poverty, unemployment, school drop-outs, lack of a father figure and broken homes, teenage pregnancies, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, drug / substance abuse, gangs / gangsterism and gang-related crime and violence, prostitution and a general attitude of hopelessness.
We try by taking small steps and in cooperation with others, to bring change in the lives of these children, adolescents and young adults.
As in many of our other fields of ministry, there is some overlap with the prison ministry, the street work and the bus project.
