Are you new to prison ministry? Does prison somehow interest or fascinate you but you are not too sure whether it could be for you? Well,  we believe that prison ministry is a calling but at the same time that we need to explore and confirm that calling.

So why not come over for a 3-month prison ministry internship? We are open to give individuals the opportunity to “come and see” and get a feel for prison ministry. While you have to cover your own expenses (flight, visa, accommodation, food, etc.) we will take you by the hand – and at times throw you into the deep end – to explore the world behind bars of South African prisons and be a part of what God is doing there.

Such an internship includes reading a few chosen books prior to your arrival in South Africa, active participation in a diverse range of activities in the prisons we are working in as well as follow-up activities for those who are released. Drop us an email for find out more.

Right now the prison ministry has minimal running costs – apart from personnel expenses, i.e. the cost of us living and working here – which, however, are not covered by HOSA but through our sending mission agencies – 100% based on donations as well.

However, we also appreciate donations for the prison ministry as such to cover e.g. travel expenses or to finance Bibles / literature. For special projects or courses it would be possible to sponsor course material for individual prisoners or sponsor individual released prisoners as part of a partnership.

Sponsors-and-Ex-Cons might not be so attractive as the popular sponsor-a-child programs but why not … However, this could only be done in individual cases by special arrangement. Talk to us to find out more!
