At HOSA we understand the dynamics and the challenges of projects and initiatives organised by locals in Africa. The commitment is often enormous and very relevant because these people often relieve the distress in their own communities and understand what is needed.

But the daily work on the ground is a full-time job in itself. Add to that the administrative work of the association that has to be dealt with and money that has to be acquired in order to be able to run those programs in the community. It is often a lot of work to solicit support from local donors and usually takes more effort than the amount reflecting on the bank account. Governmental aid for projects like these only gets approved if the association has already attained high quality standards. The difficulty about this is, that these standards cannot be attained without having financial resources in the first place…

In the Western world, however, there are a lot of people who have a heart for these local African NGOs. But the problem is: How does the money get to Africa safely?

Our local team have built relationships with numerous projects in Southern Africa in the last ten years and sometimes even actively supported them through their involvement. We know the people that are behind these names and visions and want to assist them in smoothing their road to growth and development of their worthy causes. Each of these partner projects is its own registered non-profit organisation in their country and have signed partnership contracts with HOSA. Even though we cannot fully vouch for their operation and integrity, we are still able to ensure a correct and transparent usage of the donations received through our contractual relationship and regular, personal contact. The donations can be transferred safely and easily by German donors (and international via PayPal) to the German HOSA account and in turn receive a tax deductible receipt. Once a month HOSA then transfers the money accumulated on the project’s own sub-account directly to the project with a minimal admin fee of 2% (which benefit the projects again by paying for marketing costs like this website), upon which HOSA gets a confirmation of receipt.

In this way, HOSA is serving as an indispensable administrative link between those who are eager to give out of their abundance and those who are dependent on this kind of support for the existence and growth of their organisation.
